July 4th will see us starting to venture out more, albeit tentatively – we will be depending on one another to keep us all safe. In the USA they will be celebrating Independence Day. I would like to take this significant moment to say a huge thank you, because I am incredibly grateful to all my clients, and people who recommend me to new clients, or who ‘like’ my posts, or tweets.
I’ve been working for myself as an independent graphic designer for over 20 years, and I couldn’t do that without my marvellous clients. I’m proud to say that pretty much every client I have had has come by personal recommendation.
They say that when you decide to go into business for yourself you swap one boss for 10. But I like to think of my clients as my branding buddies, we collaborate and we are tasked to solve the problem of how to make a product or service more easily understood – whatever the media touch point, and that creates a connection above information, imparting the essence of their company to their audience.
I’ll say it again… I really am incredibly grateful to all my clients, and people who recommend me to new clients, or who ‘like’ my posts, or tweets. I feel blessed that some clients have kept me going during the Covid-19 lockdown, and throughout the year give me projects of all sizes; from the design of logos and websites, to lovely big brochures and beautifully formed leaflets, or styling Word and PowerPoint files, knowing that I will pull out all the stops to realise their vision on those projects and keep them on-brand. It’s these projects that keep the wolves from my door.
