small & green | original logo, website and print design
I was asked by start-up business Small and Green of Cambridge to design their logo.
Janet Fox, the owner, wanted a logo that would show her passion of bringing together gorgeous pots and terrariums with beautiful house plants to create calming green spaces โ gardens inside.
A professional gardener, Janet believes passionately that plants improve your health and happiness, reduce stress and some even help to purify the air. Caring for them can give you a sense of well-being and inner confidence.
Following on from the logo, a small website was built. Being a start-up, budget was tight, so the more prescriptive she could be the better. I asked Janet find sites, or elements within sites, that she โ these were lots of white space, small images rather than the big ones we are so used and easy enough for her to maintain herself.
Janet very wisely has spent money where it really counts for her, on great photography. The photos have been used to create leaflets, ads and posters โ and fuel her social media posts on Facebook and Instagram.
The logo was updated in 2022, changing the serif italic in green for a sans-serif in mid grey. The website was further developed into a Woo Commerce shop site to integrate with their inventory system.
The logo looks smart, professional and I think it reads so you get the โandโ, I like the strapline too. Thank you so much. Youโve done a great job!
