The logo for Cambs Deaf church was commissioned by Rev. Jan Smith. I asked Jan why she chose me (she had Googled all the local design companies) and she said that she loved how ‘happy’ my site was and that I looked ‘friendly’ and would be just the right person she could work with.
She may have been buttering me up because she only had a small budget! Nah! I was happy to work within her budget in part because of the work she does and I have a deaf nephew.
It wasnโt especially easy โ although Jan was leading the project, the church council were to agree on the final solution. They had their โstraplineโ already, so I needed to incorporate that. The logo would be used on all their communications โ newsletters and social media etc
I put forward a few ideas, we started in black so as not to influence anyone with colour hates/favourites (there were a number of colour suggestions in the brief!).
This logo design was chosen because it represents the shaking hands greeting, and also makes a nice โbuttonโ shape when in its circle!
Like many of my clients, Jan and I have never met IRL!
Thank you so much for all your hard work, patience and extra time you spent getting our logo just right for us.
It is perfect, we are very happy with it.
